The park's other sporting attractions include cricket nets, tennis courts, aand grass football and cricket pitches. The latter, both urgent and brittle, ensured that even old elements such as Human Behaviour bristled with life. Áorfendur sögðust hafa átt erfitt með að taka augun af sviðinu, svo fallegt var það. Monday 28 May 2018 10:40 am Bjork closed the brand-new All Points East festival in Victoria Park last night with a stunning, subtle, beautiful set performed to a dramatic backdrop that transported a blissed-out crowd far from the rugged reality of Mile End. Fresh from her first TV performance in 8 years on Jools Holland, the Icelandic singer and her flautists wowed a peace-loving crowd on a balmy, dramatic east London bank holiday evening. For the casual festival one-dayer Human Behaviour and Isobel from the mid-90s brought familiarity, while the sparse soundscapes of Utopia, with its flutes and soft electronica played up to the conditions and capped one of those summer evenings that make London well worth enduring. Earlier on Beck brought the party on the second stage, playing hits from Guero and Colors. The fun levels in singing along to Rasberry Beret before the band rips into Loser are off the chart. Ballad Of A Dying Man is an amazing festival singalong, and surprising that how many people in the crowd were willing to get involved — cementing the journeyman artists crossover into the mainstream. Yet with carefully curated acts at the top of their game the XX, Lorde, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs playing on the days before London again has a festival that focuses on the music and ensures a nice day out for all. Coming at the start of the season too it feels fresh and full of energy, ready to go, but with plenty of food, drink, and space in which to enjoy the magic of Victoria Park too. One criticism it would be that the sound could have had more volume, more bass, with the speaker towers looking a little thin in their single stacks, and the 10. Perhaps this is not the fault of the festival though, more of an over-zealous Tower Hamlets council more concerned about the residents of the million-pound houses than anything else. More: Despite that, All Points East stands out from the rest and overcomes the limitations they are clearly asked to work with to ultimately deliver a great experience with relevant and classy acts.
